Lumina (1999-2003)
35mm Fuji Colour Film, 400 ASA
Lumina was based on the idea of playing with the terrible cliché that black and white photography automatically = “artistic” photos (as much of a joke now in the age of digital cameras with a black and white mode as it was when Lumina was created and one still bought film). The Lumina series of photographs poked fun at this cliché directly, not only by using colour film exclusively, but by excluding everything but colour.
